  1. Hi Upper House Kids, thanks for leaving a comment on our blog today. We are a grade 5/6 class from country Australia – we are aged from 10 to 13.
We only have five more weeks together, then it will be the end of the school year. Our grade six students will go to high school next year and the grade five students will be our new school leaders. We have holidays from December 18 to February 2, about half of the summer. Then it’s back to our new grades for 2009.

You have a great site! I work at a school in Honolulu, Hawaii. Your tales and drawings are wonderful. I’ll send a link to your site to some teachers here and ask them to visit. Good luck this year and happy holidays. If you want to know how to say something in Hawaiian please feel free to ask. I am trying to learn how to speak the language and need practice. πŸ™‚

  9. The Buckmaster-Parrish crew had a marvelous Winter Holiday Celebration today. I want to especially congratulate the students on their behavior and cooperation as they danced, danced and revolutioned; crafted and created; ate and ate and ate. We were thrilled to have Corbin G. spend the afternoon at our celebration. Thank you all for being such an awesome community of learners and friends.
    Love,

  12. Hello, I just stopped by to take a look at your blog. I like the short activities for the students and the feedback that you requested from them regarding the topics they wanted review on. One of the activities that my students in sixth grade did with me today was to find the average boat speed of the Great American 3, a sailboat in the Vendee Globe race. The skipper, a former math teacher!, loves to connect kids to realworld adventures and help them make connections to see how math is applied in everyday life (even at sea) Check out the data at http://vg.sitesalive.com/daily-updates/ships-position/
Thanks and I’ll stop by again!

  17. Hello! I am a teacher in Canada who happened across your blog. I have a student who created a “Where in the world do you live?” voicethread at the address above. He has been waiting patiently for people to comment. I was wondering if your class would post on his thread, telling where you live. If you’ve never used voicethread.com you should check it out. All our projects will show up if you go to the site and type “coalhurst elementary” into browse. We don’t have a blog yet but after seeing yours, we will have one soon.

  19. Hello Peeler Students,

I’d like to give a big shout out from San Diego CA where I am stationed as a U.S. Navy Officer onboard U.S.S. DEVASTATOR (MCM 6).

I was a student at Peeler from 1989 to 1995 and had very fond memories. Keep on being creative, using your heads to think outside the box and troubleshoot problems in new ways.

The sky is the limit for all of you. Go all out at your challenges, you will triumph eventually and laugh in the face of mediocrity!

  20. Hi This is Cayla Cunningham. I just graduated today from Peeler School and I am very sad that I will miss all of my friends. I hope 6th grade will be ok because I am very worried. If you have ways to get over my 6th (don’t want to grow up blues)move, let me know

  24. Hi Mrs. B’s Class,
I was your teacher’s TEACHER when she was in middle school! She was one of my best students EVER! You are so lucky to have such a smart, kind, and caring teacher! I am still teaching 7th grade science in New York, but I am currently taking a leave. I recently returned from China, where I adopted my second daughter. She is also a 5th grade student. Please feel free to write us back!

  25. Hello to everyone in Mrs. Buckmaster’s class.

I just took your short survey, and reported that it was 41 degrees Fahrenheit here today (which is +5 degrees Celsius), which in fact is pretty warm for the start of March!!

    Enjoy your class project!

    Cheers from Northern Alberta Canada!

  26. Hello class! You are very lucky that you have a teacher that cares so much about teaching you how to blog and learn other skills that will be so important in your future. I am the founder of Dulcinea Media, which makes Web sites that help students learn how to use the Web effectively, so I study this issue every day. Most teachers are not yet doing nearly as much with their students to help them learn how to use the Internet as Mrs. Buckmaster is. I look forward to checking in on your blog again.
